Saturday 4th June - Platinum Jubilee Sea Day

It's a sea day, which means classes for Peter.

Everywhere is full of bunting, and the announcements are all about Jubilee related entertainment.  So in keeping with the theme, Peter adjusted his painting class to "Jubilee figures", a bit of fun where passengers could add union jacks and jubilee  items to the basic figures painting.

At midday, the ship's whistle was blown.  Apparently every british ship is doing this at midday, wherever they are.  We didn't hear it, as we were cleaning up the craft room after the class.  We heard the tenor guest entertainer sing the national anthem over the ship's tannoy system though.

The morning class was full, but the afternoon one only had 12 people sign up.  I wonder if the Jubilee Cream Tea in the dining room had anything to do with it.  Apparently they were serving all sorts of delectables, including strawberries. ,

It was a formal night, with an extra special dinner.  Champagne flowed, as well as the inclusive wine, and an after dinner tipple (Tia Maria in my coffee), was a nice little extra.  And since we were all togged up, we watched the show.

It's the first time we've watched the onboard entertainment team (produced by Live Business), strut their stuf. And we liked it.

And finally, as we came back to the cabin, Saga has gifted us (and presumably every other passenger), with a small box of luxury jubilee chocolates.  Lovely.

Tomorrow we are in Limassol, Cyprus.  We've not been before, but we are looking forward to a quiet wander.
